Ok so you may have seen the "50%" sale in the starplaza of the old Sunni-Bunni well I was just about to buy some when I found this glitch:

Woo 50% off! I thought to myself

Then I realised it wasn't 50% off, it was 25% off, half the amount off of what they said.

If that item was 50% off it would be 6 stardollars because half of 12 is 6 and 50% is one half.

I knew it would be too good to be true.

 Most of you are teenagers and you don't even need all those tones of make-up you wear 

everywhere.I bet you now think I'm talking like your mother but it's true girls!We don't

need such a lot of make-up just to do simple things like going to the supermarket.I don't 

say you shouldn't wear make-up when you go out but as a greek proverb says

"Παν μέτρον άριστον" or in english "Less is more".

 Of course it isn't the same for stardoll because there we can do anything we want

but I think natural make-up is the best solution for stardoll too because it's cheaper

and sometimes even better!

Hello stardolians :)
  I'm depi2/Despina and I'm writing this post for kayci's fashion comp.
Today I will talk you about fashion,both in stardoll and real life.
Well to be honest I'm more in the mood of talking about vampire diaries
-I just finished the 1st book and I'm hooked with it..I read the book only
in 3 days & I cant wait to read the 2nd- but fashion is a topic I never get bored so..Let's start!
  Actually,that's why most of the girls like stardoll:In stardoll you can wear clothes you couldn't wear
in real life,you can make outfits using anything you want and even wear blouses as skirts or
skirts as dresses without being afraid of what other people will say.Most of the times
the result is amazing and not funny.If you can make amazing outfits using  flowers or wigs using feathers
you will be considered as creative and not as crazy.However you should do the same thing in real life too.
Use your imagination and don't be afraid of what other people will say.Don't wear clothes you don't like
just because you want to follow fashion.Find your own,unique style and prove you can create your own
fashion rules.I don't say you have to do crazy stuff in order to look unique,just add your fashion signature
in each outfit and,believe me,the result will be much better than any other outfit.
 Here is an outfit I made:

 As you can see I used 3 tops as a dress and I combined them with some nice acessories.
Of course I understand it's not the same for real life but as I said just add your personal touch
to each outfit and it won't be anymore like the others-in a good way of course!
Some ideas are to combine different acessories and colors -without overdoing it-
or even create your own clothes by change a few stuff at your old,boring clothes.
However if you think the result won't be really good search google for
ideas and advices and your clothes will be even better than any new piece of clothe!..
..And now I bet you know why:Because it will be unique!

 

 

How to look stunning without being a SuperStar

Hi, this is rosario_kira again and I am doing another post for Kayci's contest on Ghandoora's blog. If you have never been a SuperStar, or you have been only one or twice, then these tips are for you. We all know that stardoll has a lot of limitations for non-SuperStar members. Well, that is understandable, making stardoll possible is their job and have to make some money from it. Even with limitations non-SuperStar members can have a lot of fun! I will tell you some tips and tricks on how to achieve a better look for your doll and how to enjoy Stardoll even more and without paying a single cent. 




Starcoins & Stardollars

Beign able to save our money is the key for getting better items for our dolls. If you want to save a good amount of starcoins you have to be constant. Try to play everyday and collect your daily 40 starcoins, there are lots of stuff you can do to get them. If you don't know what to do to get the starcoins or how many are left for you to get the 40 you can clic on the starcoin icon in the right upper corner of your screen. You will see how many starcoins you have left and what can you do to get them. 
Saving stardollars is more difficult, but it's worth it. To get them the only thing you have to do is log in the stardoll's facebook game (http://apps.facebook.com/stardoll_feed/?type=news&lang=es) EVERY DAY. After 5 days you will get 5 stardollars, 5 days after you will get a gift, 5 days after that you will get 5 stardollars again, and so on. 



Freebies & Sales

You have to be keep an eye on the latest freebies that stardoll release. They sometimes release some really cool stuff and beautiful clothes. There are lots of blogs that give detailed information on how to get these items. 

Also, always keep extra starcoins to take advantage of the sales, you might find that item you ever wanted for a very low price. 

The makeup

This is the most important part of your look because your face is what other users will se when surfing aroung stardoll. A nice look will get their attention and they might go visit you suite. Stay tunned of freebies and new hidden stores because you might get a very good piece of makeup for free or for starcoins.

Before you spent it on anything else, use your saved stardollars to buy makeup, start with the basics:

1. Lengthening and Volumizing mascara
2. Black and white eye pencil
3. Lipstick
4. Eyeshadow
5. Blush 

I recommend you buying these items at Dot because they are way cheaper than LUXE's items. From then on you can start buying different colors of makeup or buy new HairColors from Dorée. 
I also recommend you to buy neutral colors, such as peach or light pink, at the beggining, so you can match your makeup with any clothes you wear. 
You have to be very patient, because you will have to be saving for a lot of time to get the makeup you might want.  



Clothes & Shoes 

You must be very careful at the moment of buying clothes. Always seek for items that you are sure you will use several times. The key for taking the most advantage as posible form starcoins is to save as much as we want, so we can use them when we see a really nice piece or to take advantage of sales.
If you don't care too much about make up or you see a really good stardollar item on sale, then use the starcoins, but use them wisely.
I recommend you buying clothes ar Wild Candy, it has beautiful pieces and they are all sold for starcoins. 

The suite

Decorating your suite is the part in which you will have to be the most patient. 
You can either buy pieces little by little, or keep yourself from buying clothes and save starcoins for a while to buy more items to decorate at the moment.
You can also look for items at the starbazaar, you might find something cheaper than in the suite shop.

These are the main tips I recommend you to follow in order to make your doll look way better. They work for me, but it takes me a lot of time and patience.

Sweet Suites and look alike!

Its me, Indigo26, and today i bring to you what inspired Sweet Suites and a coo look alike!

Many of you may know and some of you might not know what has inspired Stardol's Sweet Suite decor shop. Stardoll's shop was inspired by the much loved country singer/song writer Taylor Swift. When stardoll saw Taylor Swifts house they decided that this would be a perfect idea to feature celebrities furniture in a shop so die hard fans like ourselves could make a replica of their idols house!

               As you can see in the picture above is Taylor Swift's gorgeously designed sun room

Make-up mess ups and tutorial!

I'm Indigo26 and this post will be for the competition KKRRBB78 is hosting on ghandoora the boss.


Today I bring to you Make-up mess ups and a really cool and classy make-up tutorial.
Since starting stardoll and getting used to the site i have always spotted some make-up mess ups. What do I mean? Yes, you guessed it, all those popular mistakes dolls make when applying their make-up. Now i will show you a few. Let the countdown BEGIN!

This might seem funny but let me tell you LOADS of these mistakes can be spotted on stardoll. Let me point them out to you.
1. number one is the usage of odd colours. A very popular mistake made by dolls who like these clours but don't realise they don't look good together!
2. number two is the odd colour lipstick. These types of lipsticks are bright and are very difficult to use in a good way. Most times, it is used wrong and spoils a dolls look.
3. The black eyeliner from DOT is a very popular make-up item and is used by many dolls-BUT many people, when using this over do it by going right up to their ears! This item should be used just to go around the eye so a tip would be to just go around the eye and not up to the corners.
4. Yep, number 4 may seem ridiculous but the mistake is still mad many times. Lots of dolls over do their blush and make themselves look like clowns! When using such a dark shade you should only apply it once and not go over it a million times. A tip i always use is to apply it on the edges of my cheeks this makes a nice effect.
5. Lastly number 5 is the Classic what i like to call eyeshadow over do. MANY, MANY dolls do this, they apply too much eyeshadow and go all the way up to their eyebrows! All you need to do to apply this correctly is to keep the eyeshadow in your eyelid area and not underneath your eyebrows!


I thought a great addition to this post would be a simple yet elegant and classy make-up tutorial. This make-up tutorial is one of my absolute favourites. It is VERY simple and EXTREMELY easy to do so you can do it yourself! I hope it is easy to read and the pictures are visible and clear!

Museum Mile Spring 2012: a tribute to Yayoi Kusama, David Hockney & Damien Hirst

Hi dear readers, I am rosario_kira or Rosie, and I am writing this post for Kayci's contest on Ghandora's blog. Today I will talk to you about some pieces from the latest Museum Mile collection in Stardoll. The spring 2012 exhibition contains some stattuetes inspired on original pieces such as the thinker, one of the many Degas's ballerinas, the veil, etc. It also has different designs of cups, bags and posters. However, what I want to talk to you about is the colorful dotted pieces from the collection:

 

The pieces from this floor from Museum Mile are inspired in psichedelic and pop art. I find these pieces very interesting because they combine real pieces from three different pop art artists: Yayoi Kusama, David Hockney and Damien Hirst.

About the artists:

 Yayoi Kusama: She is a Japanese artist and writer, and she has worked in a wide variety of mediums, including painting, collage, sculpture, performance art and environmental installations, most of which exhibit her thematic interest in psychadelic colors, repetition and pattern. All of her works of art are very colorfull, she uses a lot of polka dots and different kind of patterns. As you can see, the sculptures and pattern are inspired on the first picture.

David Hockney: he is an English painter, draughtsman, printmaker, stage designer and photographer. An important contributor to the Pop art movement of the 1960s, he is considered one of the most influential British artists of the twentieth century. These are two of his works: 

 

 

Damien Hirst: is an English artist, entrepreneur and art collector. Hirst has made certain controversial statements  for plagiarism and using assistants to do his artwork. David Hockney himself has said that his work is an insult to crafstmen for doing that. He does different kind of art pieces, and he has made some dots paintings:

So, what I found most interesting was the way they combined art pieces from these three artists to create all the pieces from this floor. As you could see, the sculptures are inspired on  Kusuma's real sculptures, but what about Hirst and Hockney? Well, the David Hockney tag is a representation of a painting made by Damien Hirst, but if you look carefully you can see that the man with the broom is actually David Hockney! Also, if you clic on the center wall, you can select a painting inspired from a Damien Hirst's painting.

I really liked the way they combined real art pieces to create this tribute for these pop art and dot artists. If you want you can buy a souvenir with the initials of your favorite artist. I loved the idea of writing "I -dot-" and the initials of the artist, you know, because the pieces are inspired on pop art and are all decorated with colorfull dots, just an amazing idea. And well I guess the cups and bags with the "I -do not dot" are referring to Damien Hirst for his denounces on plagiarism. But well, I don't know, this is just a theory :P
